Days +16 thru 19

So not much has changed, cultures came back negative which is good.  The bad news is that the bladder spasms are being caused by some of my meds and there is nothing they can do about it except pain management, it simply has to run it's course, and unfortunately running its course takes 4-6 weeks!!  So I just have to deal.

On the bright side of things, my white blood cell count has started to go up!!!  Super good news, engraftment has started.  The count is fluctuating between 0.3 and 0.1, which is to be expected.  We are hoping for more of an upswing in the coming days.

Ok, getting some pain meds now, starting to feel loopy.

Will post again soon.

Love to you all!!

  1. Okay, Jeannine, looks like a lot of tough sledding while I was away.

BUT, you White Counts coming up is BIG, BIG, BIG....

That headache will finally go away.

And that fever always happens when your counts drop to zero...but they have to give you a ton of antibiotics to fight any bad guys that might show up.

My guess (and it is that) is that the bladder pain will go down as they throttle back on all those meds so it might be a lot less than the 4-6 week worry.

Hang tough. You WILL feel better in the next days.

Once you neutrophils (GRAN) go over 0.5 your energy level will increase too.

    Better days coming...
